Dextenza Insert

Dr. Spencer and his Iworks Laser & Vision Center Team is conducting several breakthrough Research Projects to bring exciting new and innovative technologies to not only the Dayton area, but Worldwide! Our DEXTENZA STUDY is a tremendous new way to make cataract surgery safer and better!

If you have been diagnosed with CATARACTS and are ready for surgery, give our office a call to see if you can participate in one of our studies. You maybe eligible for free medications as well as paid for your partipication!

The New DEXTENZA Insert provides an opportunity for Dr. Spencer to alleviate patients of the burden of administration of their post-op steroid drop regimen. One of our innovative inserts can replace the need for patients to administer up to 70 steroid eye drops during their recovery period. This is extremely important for patients who have difficulty placing drops into their eyes and can help patients heal faster.

DEXTENZA is a preservative-free intracanalicular insert that is inserted in the lower lacrimal punctum, tear duct opening. DEXTENZA is designed to deliver a tapered dose of steroid (dexamethasone) to the ocular surface for up to 30 days. Following treatment, DEXTENZA resorbs and exits the nasolacrimal system without the need for removal.
